Experiment Like Einstein
An experimentation phase is important for those new to Cannabis sativa or for those who have not used it in some time. Our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) is as unique as each of us. Our individual experiences with hemp (Cannabis sativa with less than .3% ∆9 THC) or marijuana (Cannabis sativa with greater than .3% ∆9 THC) will vary depending on our own ECS, the type of product used, how it was consumed, and even the environment in which it was used.
All of these factors need to be considered in order to assist you in achieving the effects you are looking for in the safest, most effective way possible. What works best for a friend or family member may not always be what works best for you. Sampling different products and methods will assist you in reaching your particular wellness goals.
There are four elements that determine the kind of experience that cannabis (hemp or marijuana) will provide, regardless of its THC levels, in addition to taking your personal tolerance level into account.
How much you consume at one time and how often you use it will also contribute to how you personally experience cannabinoids.
The ratio of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, etc. in each particular product will be as unique as each individual plant or person.
Method of Consumption
Inhalables work quickly, bypassing the body’s digestive system. Edibles take longer for the effects to be felt, but also are longer lasting. Topicals work superficially and can focus on targeted areas.
Tips to get started
Check in with your physician
Particularly if you are currently seeing a doctor for a health condition or are taking prescribed medications, we always suggest you check with your healthcare provider for their recommendations.
Start low and slow
If you are a new user, start with one puff of a pre-roll or vape pen, or just 2.5-5g of an edible. Remember only time will lessen the effects if you overdo it.
Zero high options
You do not have to feel “high” to experience benefits. There are many non-intoxicating, but effective, cannabinoids (CBDa, CBD, CBGa, CBG, CBN, to name a few) available to experiment with.
No inhalation necessary
There are many forms of consumption that do not require inhalation. Edibles, sublinguals, and topicals are accessible methods of consumption for those who wish or need to avoid inhalation.
Experimentation is ongoing
There is no definitive time frame for the experimentation process. Changing circumstances in your personal wellness goals or lifestyle may require changes in your consumption, and if you find your current products no longer serve your goals, you may need to repeat the experimentation phase once more.
